Toys: Multi-ethnic Children’s Dolls

We live in a wonderful day and age for being able to find multi-ethnic toys for our children.  Some of my favorite Asian dolls are:

  • Lil’ Hugs Asian Baby Dollhttp://www.amazon.com/None-Lil-Hugs-Asian-Doll/dp/B001BNOP4C (nice soft body, great first doll)
  • Calin Yang from Corolle’s Mon Premier collection:
http://us.corolle.com/products/Calin-Yang (Great for a toddler; the doll is gender neutral enough that if you take off the headband and put the doll in overalls or something more masculine, it works well for a boy doll too.)
  • Mini Calin Yang from Corolle’s Les Minis collection:  http://us.corolle.com/products/Les-Minis-Assortment-M2134 (My 2 year old daughter LOVES this doll and carries her everywhere!  It’s basically a tiny version of the Calin Yang doll.)
  • Dolly Licorice from Corolle’s Les Trendies collection (super cute!)
  • Travel Charmers by Karito Kids karitokids.com (these are 16 inch soft dolls)
  • Wan Ling by Karito Kids https://karitokids.com/ling/ (This doll is a big doll measuring 21 inches, so it probably best suited for a child at least 3 1/2 or 4 years old.  One of the things I love about this doll is that they did a good job making the eyes ethnically accurate as compared to the American Girl dolls.)
  • Heart For Heart Girls has multi-ethnic dolls (http://www.hearts4heartsgirls.com/products/). “When you buy a Hearts For Hearts Girls doll, a portion of the purchase price is donated to children’s causes in those countries.”
  • BFC, Ink. has a doll named “Yuko” which is very cute.  (Best Friends Club Inc)  Check Amazon.com for this doll.
  • Journey Girls carries an Asian doll named “Callie”.  Sometimes you can find it at ToysRUs:  http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4205570
